   Measured waveform data and calculated values can be saved to any drive of the computer as waveform (.wvf) files or measured-value (.fld) files that can be opened again in Power Viewer. Data can also be saved as .csv files for manipulation using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. In addition, the screen image of measured waveform data can be saved as a .bmp file.Saving Waveform Data as a .wvf or .csv FileThe Power Viewer software for personal computers allows you to transfer measured data from a PZ4000 Power Analyzer to a PC via communications or removable storage media, and to display and analyze the data on the computer. Power Viewer lets you display waveform data, measured parameters, and draw X-Y graphs such as a speed-torque curve from an electric motor. In addition, mathematical functions can calculate data from multiple channels of the maximum record length?4 megawords per channel?and display the results simultaneously. To assure the simultaneity of data that is essential for multiple signal measurement, Power Viewer can perform synchronous measurement with up to four PZ4000s ^*1. With Power Viewer, you can view all the measured data on the same screen at once ideal for measuring multiple signals that change level drastically!: RS-232 available only when connected to a single PZ4000, and GP-IB must be used when more than one PZ4000 is connected.

   • To upgrade the Power Viewer software program, the previous version of the software must be installed in your PC.

       Kumba Iron Ore developed an integrated environmental monitoring data management system for the Kolomela Mine in Postmasburg, South Africa. The ZAR 1 million project saves time by providing a one-stop shop for environmental monitoring data, such as water quality and quantity, dust fall-out, particulate level, noise, biodiversity, and rehabilitation and closure liabilities.
       Results from the stand-alone monitoring programs could be compared using geospatial references. Building on the MicroStation platform for cadastral and survey data, Kumba added Bentley Map as the source for GIS-related features. Bentley Geo Web Publisher was implemented to share geospatial and attribute data with other departments. An innovative handheld unit allows field data to be captured and automatically downloaded when the unit is docked, eliminating human error during data transfer.
       The web reporting services enable management to view captured data, monitor the effect on the environment, and determine compliance with applicable laws. This allows proactive response to and control of environmental situations as they arise. Using the GIS tool to build an integrated Mine Closure Plan allows Kumba Iron Ore to track progress on managing closure liabilities and rehabilitation projects. The system saves significant time and money during audits, reviews, queries, and investigations.
       The innovative technology applied to this project met the primary goal of biodiversity control while meeting Kumba Iron Ore’s business need to cut costs associated with the customary paper trial. The combination of web development and handheld technology with Bentley’s best-in-class software delivered a solution that will potentially reduce the environmental impact of the mining operation.
